Automatic Trap Company
Case Study
THE CHALLENGE
Recently one of our clients became the sole North American Distributor
of a new product that eliminates rodents and pests. There were a wide
range of challenges that we faced. We had to create a high end brand
that educates the consumer on how the product works and communicate
the advantages of the product versus its cost. We also had the challenge
of creating multiple packages, literature and a trade show booth that had
to be ready for a large trade show. Also, keeping in mind that the brand
had to meet the expectaions of the parent company in New Zealand.THE SOLUTION
Extensive research was done on the retail level and online to gain a
better understanding of the category. By having comprehensive
communication with our customer and vendors our team was able to
create a cohesive brand across all platforms that is very unique for the
pest control category. Package Design
They DID build a better mousetrap! However, it does come at a cost so educating the consumer
was extremely important. Many variables had to be considered when developing the
packaging. Custom die lines, materials, shipping safety, displays, and many of the logistical
challenges that go along with such an undertaking. We developed a family of packaging that
when presented on the store shelf is engaging and compelling to both the consumer and the
store buyer. It w as also designed in such a w ay that w ould be extremely efficient with the
warehouse team that would eventually bundle and ship the orders.

Trade Show Presentation
The first trade show attended by ATC was for one of the largest hardware retailers in North America. Since
they were launching a brand new product the goal of the booth and graphics was to generate traffic,
educate and act as a display for product mock ups. This was achieved by creating a bold design, using a
monitor with a looping video, a backlit counter, mock ups on shelving, a podium and a double sided
banner stand. The result was an extremely successful trade show.
